Bape, was founded in 1993 by Nigo (Tomoaki Nagao) in Tokyo, Japan. Initially focusing on streetwear, the brand quickly gained popularity for its playful designs and unique take on urban fashion. However, it wasn’t until 2002 that Bape ventured into footwear with the release of the Bapesta, a sneaker inspired by Nike’s classic Air Force 1.
